Homemade Snickers Bars- Make those iconic bars right in your own kitchen! These are gooey, chocolatey nougaty and just plain amazing.
My Mom never made these bars. Now, mind you, she adored a snickers candy bar, but, this recipe I actually found over 10 years ago. It was way back when I first started blogging and quickly became a family favorite.
This recipe is quite easy to make, but, does take a little time to put them together. They are also quite rich, eat in small quantities, if at all possible. 😉
Be sure to let each layer cool completely before moving on to the next layer. This will prevent your bars from mushing all together.
Keep any leftovers in the refrigerator. If desired, you can freeze these bars. I do recommend cutting them into pieces before you do this. Simply store them in a covered, freezer safe, storage bag or container.

Total Time: 5 hrs 30 mins
Yield: 15-18 bars
Ingredients
Chocolate Bottom Layer:
1 1/4 cups chocolate chips
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
Nougat Layer:
1/4 cup butter (1/2 stick)
1 cup white sugar
1/4 cup evaporated milk
1 1/2 cups marshmallow fluff
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups salted peanuts, roughly chopped
Caramel Layer:
14 oz package caramels
1/4 cup whipping cream
Chocolate Top Layer:
1 1/4 cups chocolate chips
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
Instructions
Line a 9 x 13 baking pan with foil. Generously spray it with non-stick cooking spray.
Bottom Layer: In a microwave-safe dish or saucepan, melt 1 1/4 cups chocolate chips and 1/4 cup peanut butter until fully smooth. Spread evenly in the bottom of the prepared pan. Let it harden completely.
Nougat Layer: In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add in sugar and evaporated milk, stirring until dissolved. Bring to a boil and let simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat, then stir in marshmallow fluff, 1/4 cup peanut butter, and vanilla until smooth. Fold in the chopped peanuts. Spread evenly over the hardened bottom chocolate layer and let cool completely.
Caramel Layer: In a saucepan over low heat, melt caramels with the whipping cream, stirring occasionally until smooth. Spread evenly on top of the cooled nougat layer and let cool completely.
Top Layer: In a microwave-safe dish or saucepan, melt the remaining 1 1/4 cups chocolate chips and 1/4 cup peanut butter together until smooth. Spread evenly over the cooled caramel layer.
Refrigerate the entire pan for at least 1 hour before slicing. Keep any leftovers stored in a covered container in the refrigerator.
I’m drooling just looking at these! Snickers is one of my all-time favorites! Thanks for sharing and for joining Fiesta Friday party!
