Pupcakes: Cupcakes for Dogs- Don't forget your pooch when baking up some goodies! These cupcakes are dog friendly and only need a few simple ingredients. 🐾
Dogs have been a part of my life since childhood. They are just so sweet, loyal and affectionate. As a matter of fact, my lovely Sophie is parked right at my feet as I type this. Not sure if she is loyal to me right now or is just waiting for another one of these pupcakes. ;)
They are really easy to make and you will only need a total of 8 ingredients to make them. That includes the frosting!
Ingredients Needed:
- Flour + Baking powder
- Oil
- Unsweetened applesauce
- Egg
- Honey
- Peanut butter
- Plain Greek yogurt
Can I Use Any Type of Flour?
Yes, sorta. Plain, unbleached flour is safe for dogs in moderation. If that is all you have on hand and your dog tolerates (no allergy!) it well, use it. Other flour options you can use are whole wheat flour, oat flour coconut flour or almond flour. It just depends on your dog and if they have an intolerance or allergy to any of them.
Can I Use Sour Cream instead of Plain Greek Yogurt?
Again, yes, sorta. Sour cream is not toxic for dogs, but, it can give some dogs an upset stomach. Plain Greek yogurt is lower in fat, higher in protein and better for your doggies' stomach than sour cream. Be sure your Greek yogurt is plain!
Additional Notes:
- This recipe makes 6 pupcakes.
- Store any leftovers in a covered container in the refrigerator. They are best eaten within a week.
- Yes, you can freeze these. Let them cool completely and freeze them before adding frosting. They should be stored in a freezer safe (covered) storage bag or plastic bag.
